SUBJECT OF THE CONFERENCE

The concept of lifescapes can help to explore the synthesis between social interactions within political, economic and ecological contexts experienced sensitively across cultural boundaries and physical borders. Or, in other words how belonging and meaning are socially embedded and embodied in sensual ways of being within spatial practices that transform landscapes into lifescapes. While also acknowledging the dynamic, constantly evolving, and socially negotiated nature of life histories and narratives, the concept of timescape will also be involved to help consider the dis/continuous temporal rhythms that frame our experiences.

There are going to be several online seminars leading up to the meeting, as well as the possibility for everyone to contribute with short papers/blog posts that will be publish continuously.
